Perfect weather...again

So I left the cottage mid-afternoon, and made great time down to the city yesterday. 2 hours, 26 minutes, a new best. I got the mail, flaked out for a while, hit Canadian Tire and the library, then headed over to pick up George. He was running a bit behind, so I helped him cover the pool and finish getting ready to go, and we left with barely enough time to spare, arriving 2 minutes before the game. I promptly fouled out as the leadoff hitter. 12 beers. Sigh.

We won handily over one of the best teams in the league, then in the 2nd game we were down by four when I took a 3-2 pitch that I was sure was gonna be short. 24 more beers. Sigh. My first beers in 2 years with the team, and suddenly I owe 36. Unhappy about this.

So George ANSI left the game, got some gas and diet pepsi, and a couple of cheeseburgers, then hit the road. We had a great time on the drive, just conversing and philosophizing in general, and without really speeding (much), I made it back in 2:20. Not an official record, because the clock started at McDs, not home, but still pretty good.

Today was gorgeous. I knew the lake was gonna get nuts, so we did tube rides early, then Pace and I headed into town to pick up some wood for Terry, a few groceries, and rather annoyingly, fill both tanks with propane as someone had finished off what I thought was a full spare tank and just left it under the BBQ. Fifty bucks to fill em both, plus boat gas....it adds up.

We have eaten well, played hard, and even enjoyed some scrabble, although Claudine was not fond of some of the two letter words.

Gotta hit the road - trying to beat some of the traffic, and the trailer is loaded for the dump.
