Well, it's definitely nice to have nearly every major thing I have to accomplish this school year behind me. The big one, of course, was the recently completed grad trip to Ottawa/Montreal, which despite a couple or three slight hiccups, worked out pretty well in the end.
Now that I'm home, I'm trying to catch up on everything that has slipped by the wayside over the last few months of insanity during Gabi's course, mutual report cards and of course my big trip.
For example, the Christmas lights came down today. Slightly overdue, but hey, at least they're down. I also cut and weed-whacked the lawn, replaced the screens in the back door, cooked a full lunch, have beercan chicken on the go for dinner, and maybe even might get a personal blog entry done. Oh, and the normal laundry and dishes, etc.
So - my ongoing saga with Rogers seems to continue nearly endlessly. Last weekend the cable was a disaster, so I called Rogers and made an appt for yesterday. Of course, the van door chose to completely seize, and Toyota needed more time to fix it than I had, so I couldn't get home. So the tech came this morning, and basically told me exactly what I already know - the problem is outside my house. I've been waiting since early June for them to come and rebury my line, which is where my signal problems lie. Of course, my boxes and internet were working fine when they arrived, but I still have a very low signal.
I'm thinking it's time to escalate something - Gabi was trying to watch some videos for her course last week, and couldn't. Major inconvenience to say the least - she had to defer a couple of assignments as a result. It's all done now, thank goodness, but it was a major pain and it was something I could do nothing about.
At any rate - I'm feeling good (except for my hammy, which seems to be healing much more slowly the 2nd time I pulled it - I guess I did too much too soon), happy things are settling down, and really getting ready for summer.
I must go and pick up some groceries - chicken by itself for dinner wouldn't really cut it, I think - although that's better than no chicken at all.
