Christmas morning?

For those of you who don't know this about me, I have a hobby that I have a slight interest in.

I play simulation baseball games.

My league, a few years back, went exclusively back to playing the carded version, so for the last 4 years, I've anxiously awaited the arrival of the cardset. In fact, I anxiously await the order opportunity so that I can get my order in ASAP, as it's a first in first out kind of situation.

At least, it usually is.

This year, apparently Canada Customs put out a new form that was causing some difficulty, so all the Canadian orders got pushed to the back of the queue. I found this out in January when I inquired, as I was hoping to get my cards in Nov/Dec, as I ordered within minutes of the link being available - I mean, I had to be near the front of the line.

So at any rate, after being told that my cards shipped right after the New Year, I finally got a tracking # that told me they shipped on January 21st, an interesting discrepancy, but never mind that now. I'm waiting. And waiting. And waiting.

Last week I got back in touch with the game's creator, and he agreed to send me a replacement set, as obviously mine was lost somehow. So after waiting a few more days, last Thursday he shipped it out via courier, with a tracking number and everything.

I may have figured out the problem when it didn't arrive yesterday, as it was supposed to. I triple checked my order, but apparently they missed my address change on the order, and were shipping everything to the old house.

Thankfully, the rush tracked order got forwarded.

What happened to the original cardset remains an utter mystery. However, if the new owners of my place on Munson order cards next year, I think we might know.

Best news of all is that I finally have my cards, and it is indeed like a 2nd Christmas morning for me, even though I got them in the evening.

At least my daily lump of coal at the mailbox is over - I'm sure the neighbours were starting to get worried as I walked home cursing every day.
