Emotional day

First, Chloe completely and utterly kicked my butt this morning. She
didn't want to wear clothes, then refused shoes, then a coat was out
of the question, then she did her human board routine.

You try strapping someone who's made themselves as straight as a board
into a five point restraint system.

It took two of us to do it, then I drove her to school, screaming
bloody murder all the way, then she didn't want to get out of the
carseat, if you can believe. Then putting her down at school was
hard, with her headbutting the teacher. Just an utter disaster. I
fled near tears, which is not like me at all. She just wrecked me
this morning.

So I called when I got to school, and she'd calmed down, but my day
was toast - I never really got back on track after that. Wasn't
feeling all that hot, either, and I had a whole pile of problems to
sort out after my brief absence.

So I had a few errands to run at lunch, and while out, Chloe's school
called to ask me to pick her up - she'd been crying off and on all
morning. Thankfully Nonna was available to go, but that took some
coordinating in itself.

So we've decided to buy a car. We've now made a few attempts to buy a
Cube, and they haven't worked out. I've got a line on a lancer
sportback gts, but Gabi's not wild about it. The Hyundai Elantra
keeps floating in the back of my mind, too.

Then, finally, we were all home. Chloe asked to go to bed, gabi took
her, and Maya and I watched the Hannah Montana where she told her
secret. Maya broke down completely, and it even got to me a little
bit - with little girls, I've watched a lot of Disney channel, let me
tell you.

I'm gonna blame it on illness, exhaustion and stress.
